How to join

Four steps to your first skate.

Just turn up

No booking, no forms up front. Arrive at Leisure World Tiptree a few minutes before the session starts so we can say hello.

Pay at the door

Cash only, please. Entry plus skate hire covers the full session — nothing else to pay.

Borrow or bring

Hire a pair of quad skates from us for £2, or bring your own if you have them. Indoor wheels only, please.

Come back whenever

Enjoyed it? Come back any week. Want to work towards your merits? Chat to a coach on Saturday and we'll get you started.

Joining the club

Beyond merits.

Once you've worked through your merits, we'll generally invite you to join the club properly. Club members train several times a week, help out with the merit sessions on Saturdays, get club tops and jackets, and — if they fancy it — start entering competitions.

Flying the flag for GB

Some of our senior club members enter competitions across the country — a few have gone further, competing abroad and even representing Great Britain. You don't have to compete to be part of the club, but the path is there if you want it.

Through the year

Club events.

Two highlights anchor our year — one competitive, one just for fun. Everyone in the club gets involved.

Spring

Merit Competition

Our annual in-club competition — skaters perform the routines they've been training for, judged against the GBSA Merit criteria. Trophies, shields and a hall full of cheering parents.

December

Christmas performance & party

An end-of-year showcase where everyone — from first-time skaters to our senior members — performs, followed by food, music and a proper club party. A highlight of the year.
