There's no minimum age — if your child can stand up, balance, and follow simple instructions, they're welcome to give it a try. In practice, most children start between 4 and 7. They'll need an adult with them at the rink.

Absolutely. We've got skaters of every age, including plenty of adults — some are returning to something they loved as a kid, some are starting from scratch. The coaches will happily help adults as well as juniors.

No booking needed. Turn up a few minutes before the session starts, pay at the door, and you're in. If it's your first visit, give us a wave — we'll show you where to go and make sure you're set up.

Saturday mornings are £5 entry, Wednesday evenings are £3. Skate hire is £2 if you don't have your own skates. We're cash only — please bring cash on the day. There's no joining fee or membership cost to start.

Not at all. We have a range of quad skates to hire for £2 a session, from small junior sizes up to adult. Once you decide skating's for you, we're happy to help you choose your own pair.

We're an artistic roller skating club, so we skate on quads (four wheels in a square layout). If you only have inlines, you're still welcome at the general sessions — but if you want to work towards merits or competitions, you'll want quads.

Something comfortable you can move in — leggings, joggers and a t-shirt work brilliantly. Long socks above the ankle stop skates from rubbing. Tie long hair back. No need for anything fancy.

We don't supply protective kit, but you're very welcome to bring your own — and for younger or more nervous skaters, we'd encourage it. Wrist guards in particular are a good idea for first-timers.

The GBSA Merits are structured assessments set by GB Skate Artistic — the UK's governing body for the sport. They take skaters from absolute beginners through to advanced footwork, dance and figures. Saturday coaching at TARSC works towards these merits.

Once you've worked through your merits, we'll generally invite you to join the club properly. Club members train several times a week, help out with merit sessions, get a club top and jacket, and — if they fancy it — start entering competitions. Some of our more senior skaters have competed abroad and even represented Great Britain.

Yes — and for younger children we'd ask that a parent or carer stays at the venue throughout the session. There's seating around the rink so you can watch. We also welcome parents who'd like to skate themselves.

Our sessions are open skates — we don't hire the rink privately. If you'd like to arrange a small group visit or have a birthday skater you'd like to celebrate with, get in touch and we'll do our best to help.
